5 reasons to visit Ibiza during Christmas Time

Spending Christmas Time in Ibiza

Far away from the crowded beaches, traffic jams and high summer prices, we can see a very different Ibiza throughout wintertime when the island totally changes its face to offer its most authentic and natural look. But what especially makes Ibiza so special throughout the festivity season? Find out more in our new article “5 reasons to visit Ibiza during Christmas Time.”

1) Christmas Markets and local traditions in Ibiza

Traditional Christmas Markets

When it’s about Christmas spirit and coziness, Ibiza is the place to be! Christmas in Spain is all about family and getting together, not about crowded malls and overconsumption. Therefore, you’re way more likely to find people strolling around the Christmas markets on the island, enjoying some homelike time and warm laughter.

These Christmas markets open a few days before Christmas and one can find anything that the Christmas heart is longing for – clothing, presents, accessoires, decorations, food, drinks and so on. As you can see – you’ll for sure not have a hard time choosing the perfect gift for your loved ones!

Also, Ibiza Town (Eivissa) will be all glammed up, making your most marvelous Christmas dreams coming true, allowing you to just get a little lost in the streets and be amazed by all the festive decorations around. Even though temperatures in Ibiza can go up to 18 degrees in December, it is always nice to enjoy a delicious cup of coffee or tea in one of the old town’s beautiful cafés.

Christmas Market “Hippy Market Edition”

Starting from mid-December, all the residents of Ibiza and its visitors are welcomed to enjoy the atmosphere of Las Dalias Hippy Market, visiting the extraordinary flea market that takes place in the interior room and in the gallery.
Until January 5 from Monday to Friday from 5 pm to 9 pm, Saturdays from 10 am to 9 pm and Sundays from 3 pm to 9 pm the Christmas Market is open. The only days it will be closed are December 25 and January 1.

2) Parties and nightlife in Ibiza during Christmas Time

Party simply is and remains a tradition in Ibiza! Despite the off-season, the island just never runs out of festivities and offers its visitors a wide range of amazing parties, events and activities for young and for old.

Especially in Ibiza Town, Santa Eulalia and San Antonio, various Christmas events take place throughout December – of course we will keep you up to date on it. Ibiza really has a wide range to offer for the whole family!

Even though the island will be way calmer than during summer time, there are still possibilities to go clubbing, especially for Christmas and New Year’s Eve. The Cafe Mambo Ibiza Classics Christmas Party is always a highlight, which this year takes place on December 14th. Furthermore, after spending a marvelous Christmas Eve with your loved ones, Lío invites you to dance the night away throughout its “Nochebuena” party that takes place from 23:59h on.

As the end of the year is getting closer, Ibiza prepares itself for one of the biggest nights of the calendar, New Year’s Eve. Throughout summer time it is obvious that everyone on this island is very keen on dancing the night away and therefore, it’s no surprise that Ibiza has some of the most legendary New Year’s Eve celebrations around Europe, maybe even the world! The most important parties take place at Heart Ibiza and at Lío. Furthermore, you can spend the first day of the year dancing at DC-10’s party “Circoloco” which no doubt is an unmissable event for real Ibiza lovers.

Get ready to welcome 2020 in style!

You can benefit from the heated floor warming the whole house, and have a pleasant swim in the heated pools without fearing to catch a cold. 1. Can Nou

Our first recommendation is the luxury villa Can Nou, located at Cala Jondal. Situated in a quiet place at the top of a mountain, you will be surrounded by nature and be exposed to fascinating sunsets. There is even grass around the heated swimming pool to allow children to play around.

The fourth villa you must stay at is Can Truy, in Can Thomas. Everything from the decoration to the furniture has been thought-through, in order to keep you delighted and entertained. There is a cozy fireplace for winter stays, the most important underfloor heating, plenty of board games, a ping pong table, yoga mats, cool vintage toys, and many more things to discover…
